Inventory Pets Mod (1.18.2, 1.16.5)— Super Cute

Forge

The Inventory Pets mod adds several new pets to Minecraft, which aid the player in various ways. These new pets are living creatures that remain in your inventory and provide bonuses while you’re carrying them. These could be special effects, just as if you’d used a potion, additional item drops from slain monsters, or even enhanced weapons that you would typically never be able to craft using an enchanting table. You have to pay a little attention to these pets and ensure they’re well-fed, and the mod will take care of the rest.

A recent Inventory Pets update shows that the mod now carries 52 pets, each with unique graphics and abilities. Many of these pets, like creepers, cows, and wolves, all look more or less like their regular in-game versions, just shrunk to a tiny size. Some pets, like a purple metal ingot or a wooden chest, don’t seem to make sense. However, when you consider the special buffs and bonuses the pets provide.

Features

Inventory Pets can be acquired in two different ways:

  • All pets, except for Legendary, are craftable using vanilla Minecraft materials. Material requirements are higher for rarer and more powerful pets.
  • Pets can be found in four special places in the Overworld: Sea Caves, Cloud Dungeons, Treetops, and underground Dungeons.

The Feed Bag

Keep all your pet foods in one bag, and keep the bag ANYWHERE in your (vanilla) inventory. Your pets will find their food and eat from it.

Pet Namer

Just press ‘N‘ while holding any pet, and you can give it a name. No experience necessary!

Creeper

  • Explodes [Right Click]
  • Immune to explosions

Enderman

  • Teleport [Right Click]
  • Auto-teleport when health is low

Iron Golem

  • Temporary Shield [Right Click]

Magma Cube

  • Fire resistance
  • Walk on Lava
  • Food: Nether Quartz

Snow Golem

  • Knockback
  • Gives you Snowballs

  • Fire damage on attack

Chicken

  • Speed boost
  • Gives you Eggs
  • Food: Seeds
  • Eats: Around twice in a Minecraft Day

Cow

  • Removes negative potion effects
  • Fills empty buckets with Milk
  • Food: Wheat
  • Eats: Around twice in a Minecraft Day
  • Recipe: Left O = Coal Nugget, Right O = Iron Nugget
  • Notes: Must keep empty buckets in inventory

Ocelot

  • Night vision
  • Scares away Creepers
  • Catches fish when near water
  • Food: Cooked Fish

Pig

  • Bonus hunger saturation
  • Can eat poisonous foods
  • Gives you Porkchops

  • Bonemeal effect [Right Click]
  • Fills empty bowls with Mushroom Stew
  • Food: Mushroom
  • Eats: Around twice in a Minecraft Day
  • Recipe: O = Redstone

Utility Pets

Anvil

  • Slowly auto-repair damaged items in the Inventory
  • Food: Iron Nuggets
  • Recipe: O = Iron Ingot
  • Eats: Only when it repairs something
  • Notes: Repairs an item in your inventory or armor slot every 2-4 minutes when kept in the hotbar.

Bed

  • Sleep [Right Click]
  • Food: Wool
  • Eats: Every 2 uses
  • Recipe: O = Redstone

Brewing Stand

  • Brews random potion [Right Click]
  • Food: Nether Wart
  • Eats: Every use
  • Recipe: O = Cobblestone

Chest

  • Open [Right Click]
  • Food: Planks
  • Eats: Around once in a Minecraft Day
  • Recipe: O = Wood Planks, F = Iron Nugget

Nether Portal

  • Notes: Now saves your return and spawn points. Be patient when heading to the Nether for the first time, as it’s trying to find a nice spot. It gives you Fire Resistance for a short time and gives you snowfall for a short time. It also extinguishes you if you are on fire when returning to the Overworld.

Ender Chest

  • Open [Right Click]

  • Eats: Around once in a Minecraft Day
  • Recipe: O = Ender Nuggets
  • Notes: To make Ender Nuggets, just place an Ender Pearl into a crafting table to get 9 Nuggets

Pingot

  • Uses Sonar to help you locate ores [Right Click]
  • Auto Extract ore [Sneak + Right Click]
  • Food: Diamond Nuggets
  • Eats: Around twice in a Minecraft Day and at each Auto-Extract
  • Recipe: O = Cyan Dye
  • Now it tells you the ore it’s found in Chat
  • Notes: Pings louder and faster when near. Double ping means you are ‘in line’ with the Ore. Higher pitched ping means you are targeting a valuable gem. Cross mod compatible. Auto-extract does not work in Creative Mode.

Purplicious Cow

  • Health regeneration
  • Fills empty buckets with Lava
  • Food: Diamond Nuggets
  • Eats: Around twice in a Minecraft Day
  • Recipe: Left O = Lapis Nugget, Right O = Iron Nugget, D = Diamond

Quantum Crystal Monster

  • Summons minions [Right Click]

Banana

  • Throwable Weapon [Right Click]

  • Notes: Currently not compatible with Advent of Ascension (1.7.10) due to conflicting events. Recommend you test in your modpack to ensure it works properly. It can be disabled in config if necessary.

Shield

  • Group Resistance [Right Click]
  • Food: Iron Nuggets
  • Eats: Every 3 uses
  • Recipe: O = Iron Nuggets, D = Emerald, G = Diamond
  • Notes: 10-second delay before re-use. Provides resistance to all nearby players. This works with Teams as well (if you are using Scoreboard). Lasts 1 full minute.
  • Drop: Small chance of dropping in any dungeon chest

Heart

  • Group Regeneration [Right Click]
  • Food: Red Flower
  • Eats: Every 3 uses
  • Recipe: O = Redstone, D = Emerald, G = Diamond
  • Notes: 10-second delay before re-use. Provides regeneration to all nearby players. This works with Teams as well (if you are using Scoreboard). Lasts one full minute.
  • Drop: Small chance of dropping in any dungeon chest

Moon

  • Reverses gravity of mobs and items [Right Click]
  • Food: Ghast Tear
  • Eats: Every 3 uses
  • Recipe: O = Nether Quartz, D = Emerald, G = Diamond
  • Notes: 10-second delay before re-use. It does not affect other players but can be changed in the config to do so.

Dubstep

  • Sound blast [Right Click]

Black Hole

  • Notes: Slows all mobs and mob projectiles (arrows, fireballs) and gives you Matrix-like escape abilities. It can only be found in Underground Dungeons.
