Ping Mod (1.19.4, 1.18.2)— Notifying other Players

Forge

Use the Ping tool from Portal 2 to Minecraft in this useful futuristic mod by dmillerw – Ping Mod!

What is the Mod About?

Inspired by Portal 2, this mod attempts to replicate the feature in a way that’s useful to Minecraft world. With this mod installed, you can send a ping by simply holding down the “F” (or “V”) key. Ping will be sent to everyone in the current dimension so other users can see it. The mod is also highly configurable, and many aspects of the mod can be disabled.

Should You Install it?

Ping is a great mod that suits well for mod packs with advanced technologies. However, it may not fit Minecraft’s vanilla theme.

Features

  • Pressing and Holding down the F key to open the Ping HUD.

How to Use

  • Using Ping is incredibly simple. Both the server and client must have it installed (though clients without it will still be able to play, they just won’t receive Pings).
  • To send a Ping, simply hold down the F (V as of 1.9) key, and select a ping type by either mousing over it and releasing F (V as of 1.9) or by clicking on it.
  • A Ping will then be sent to everyone in the current dimension, which has the following:
    • Chosen to receive Pings
    • It is in range of your Ping (range can be modified in the config file).
  • If a Ping is offscreen, a small icon will render on the side of your screen, pointing to it.
