Joypad Mod

The mouse and keyboard are ubiquitous with computer gaming. If it was released on the PC, the odds are good it was made to be played with these two items. Minecraft is no different. The standard WASD scheme moves the player and the mouse is used to interact with the environment by breaking and placing blocks, attacking enemies and more. What about console gamers, or those who just prefer controllers? Normally, this bracket of players would be out of luck. Thanks to the Joypad Mod though, controllers can be used to play Minecraft on the PC, both in single and multiplayer modes!

This is great news for fans of the building and mining simulator who got their first taste of Minecraft on a Playstation or Xbox console. Since they are already used to playing Minecraft with a controller in hand, it seems like this mod was made specifically for them, to ease the transition from console to PC. Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Joypad Mod is the fact the pad can be used along with the keyboard and mouse. Thanks to this, it’s possible to play a kind of cooperative Minecraft where one player controls the movement and the other controls the actions of the character in game.

Of course, to do something like that, you would need to work out some real synchronicity with the person you’re playing the game with. Because of this, the multiplayer aspect isn’t really the main attraction for the Joypad Mod. That would be the fact console gamers can seamlessly slip over into PC Minecraft, which is infinitely superior because of things like mods, custom maps and resource packs that allow for a degree of customization which will never be seen in the console games. If you’ve always wished you could play PC Minecraft with a controller, you need this mod.
